Walking is a recommended by the NHS as an activity to keep the body healthy.

Join the CAPWOI family every Saturday and keep your body fit as a fiddle.  Take it at your pace, all that matters is that you take the first step.

Benefits of our walking program

There are personal benefits for our health in general because walking briskly can help you build stamina, burn excess calories and make your heart healthier.  

We also know that it will foster community cohesion as most people don't even know more than their immediate neighbours.  Finally CAPWOI is using this initiative to raise awareness about it's Charitable goals in a the UK and West African communities.

Why should you walk?

Moderate activity will raise your heart rate, and make you breathe faster and feel warmer.

  • causing chemical changes in your brain which can help to positively change your mood

When where and what time do we set off?

The plan is congregating at a location with FREE parking and hit the trail

What should you wear?

Any shoes or trainers that are comfortable, provide adequate support and do not cause blisters will do.

What route will be taken?

It is likely for the chosen trail to be woodland without much passing traffic.

How long is the walk?

The idea is fun, a bit of exercise, comradery and community cohesion.  You can take you baby steps of 10 - 20 - 30 minutes to 120 minutes depending on fitness.
